Job Description – Driver’s Mate (Swindon)

Are you looking for a hands-on role with early starts and great earning potential? Our client in Swindon is recruiting Driver’s Mates to join their friendly and hardworking delivery team.

As a Driver’s Mate, you’ll support the driver on daily routes, delivering wholesale food products to restaurants, takeaways, cafés, and other food businesses across the region. This is a physical role that involves manual handling, customer interaction, and ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the driver with daily delivery routes
• Loading and unloading wholesale food products
• Delivering to restaurants, takeaway outlets, and other catering establishments
• Providing excellent customer service at each drop
• Ensuring products are handled carefully and delivered in perfect condition
• Recording delivery information accurately
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the vehicle

What We’re Looking For

• Comfortable with manual handling and physical work
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Experience as a drivers mate is preferred but not essential
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Shift Details

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 6:00am – 8:00am
• Ad hoc work, not full time
